报告摘要：We introduce a new method with its R package, BeSS, for solving the best subset selection problem in linear, logistic 

and Cox's proportional hazard (CoxPH) models. It utilizes a highly efficient active set algorithm based on primal and dual variables, 

generalized information criterion(GIC) and supports sequential and golden search strategies for best subset selection. We show that 

our solution enjoys nice properties including finite convergence, consistency in estimation and sparsity level selection under some 

mild regularity conditions. We provide a C++ implementation of the algorithm using Rcpp interface. We demonstrate through 

numerical experiments based on enormous simulation and real datasets that the new method has competitive performance compared 

to other existing methods for best subset selection purpose.

报告人简介：王学钦中山大学数学K8凯发和中山医K8凯发教授，中山大学统计学科带头人👩🏼‍🏭，担任数学K8凯发院长助理，中山大学华南统计科学研究中心执行主任等职。2003年毕业于纽约州立大学宾厄姆顿分校（Binghamton University）, 2012年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划学者💆‍♂️， 2013年获得国家优秀青年研究基金，2014年入选第八批广东省高等学校“千百十工程”国家级培养计划👩‍🚒，2016年入选“广东特支计划”（百千工程领军人才）。此外，他还担任教育部高等学校统计学类专业教学指导委员会委员🤽🏽‍♀️👩🏻‍🦽、统计学国际期刊JASA（ACS）、《SII》、《JCS》的Associate Editor🥢、广东省高校统计学类教学指导委员会主任委员👺、高等教育出版社《Lecture Notes: Data Science, Statistics and Probability》系列丛书的副主编🍇、中国现场统计研究会数据科学与人工智能分会副理事长和中国青年统计学家协会副会长等💂‍♀️🙀。主要从事精准医疗、风险管理、非参数统计、和机器学习等方面的研究✫🏚。在高影响力的统计、遗传、流行病学和精神病学期刊上发表了60多篇学术论文，其中包括Annals of Statistics🤽‍♂️，JASA🏬🧖🏼，Journal of Statistical Software🤱🏻🚵🏻‍♂️， Environ Int.，Bioinformatics，EBioMedicine，Research in Autism SpectrumDisorders和Nature genetics🧔🏻‍♂️。
